In April 2007 AST was awarded the Contract for building Green Field District Cooling Network for massive residential project promoted by Ilyas and Musthafa Galadari group named aptly as City of Arabia on the Emirates Road next to Global Village.

The project value is more than AED 120 million with duration of 498 days starting from 22 April 2007.

The Consultants for the project are Cansult Maunsell AECOM.

The project has two phases. Phase-1 has to be ready operational in 343 days and Phase-2 155 days.

The project involves laying Chilled Water Pipes both below the ground and above ground inside the buildings. The overall battery limit of the project is from the central cooling plant to the ETS rooms inside the buildings.

The scope of the project involves laying pre-insulated pipes from 8” to 60” in diameter and it is built as a close loop system. AST will also be involved apart from laying the pipe line to carry out all associated excavated works, backfilling works, construction of Anchor Bolts, Thrust Blocks etc.

AST was considered as the preferred Contractor for the project by Empower based on its performance of other Empower projects like DFCC, DIFC etc.
